Why is Love Recruitment Going To India?

The guest blog below is from London-based recruitment agency Love Recruitment, who have giving at the core of their business.

TownHall wanted to feature them today, Extra Mile Day, as we were impressed by the way they have taken a standard recruitment agency model and gone the extra mile, which sees that for every person they place in a job, they sponsor a child’s education in India for a year.

If you’re in the UK, looking for a new job and a way to give back, Love Recruitment will help with both at the same time!

More below…

Good morning and happy Extra Mile Day!

We wanted to share with you a hugely important advance in our #ShareTheLove project – something that has been made possible by our valued clients and candidates who work with us.

As you probably already know, our #ShareTheLove project means that for every person we successfully place in a job, we sponsor a child’s education in India for a year, through our friends at Project Nanhi Kali.

We have now sponsored well over 125 girls!

Now for the most exciting bit…

On November 30th, a few of us at Love Recruitment will be travelling to Mumbai, India, on an aid trip to visit the girls at Nanhi Kali.

The trip comes almost a year after we launched our #ShareTheLove project and will coincide with Human Rights Month in December.

We’re excited that as a for-profit recruitment company, we can still give so much back by way of a sustainable model that ensures improved and continued education for girls in India.

Sponsorship means that Nanhi Kali girls receive academic support through additional classes before or after school, material support/kits and community support by way of regular interactions with the Nanhi Kali’s parents and the community to ensure they don’t drop out of school.

According to Unesco, if all women had a primary education, there would be 15% fewer child deaths.

If all women had a secondary education, child deaths would be cut in half, saving three million lives.

We’re working towards making sure that happens.

The trip will see that we deliver further aid in the way of books, writing materials, water bottles etc to the Nanhi Kali girls, as well as seeing first hand the positive impact the project has had.

We will be raising money and awareness in the lead-up, enabling us to donate as many supplies and sponsorships as possible.

Feel free to share our story! We’re excited to get the message out there and to watch this project grow over years to come. Every placement makes a difference.
