Meet the changemakers of New Zealand.
Businesses that give back, local charities and social enterprises to get involved with and for-purpose projects making an impact.
One Small Step for Equal Education Opportunities: From me to PNG build two functional school libraries and learning hubs in Papua New Guinea.
From me to PNG is a charity built around the belief that every kid is filled with their own unique fire and potential, and every kid deserves the chance to release this potential into the world. Education is the key to this and that is why we want to ensure every school has adequate learning facilities and environments.
Welcome to Misfit. We are a team of creatives and square pegs set on inventing and pushing boundaries, with an uncompromising and meticulous approach to crafting the perfect beer. We are a New Zealand social enterprise brewing company, where we will be fighting to restore clean water sources in New Zealand and the wider Pacific, by donating all of our profits to the cause.
I’m a 23 year old marketing graduate from Auckland, New Zealand.
Misfit has been a project that has evolved from my humble beginnings of brewing some questionable homebrew while at University. Graduating in late 2015, I developed the company in the first half of 2016, before getting a corporate job at New Zealand’s largest brewery. 18 months later, I decided to leave this job, jumping into Misfit Brewing Co. full time, working to release our first range of beers in late 2018.
‘Keeping it real’ is my own personal project where I aim to share content that both inspires and sheds light on various social constructs, issues and/or social innovations. My aim is to create honest content that is relatable, and that prompts discussion and thought.
Originally from New Zealand, I have spent the last three years both living and working overseas on numerous international projects and events in both the public and private sectors. I have a degree in Management and Psychology, a background in International Development and am focused on and passionate about creating a positive impact and driving social change.
I’m a 24 year old Event Coordinator who has an eye for DIY, organisation and keeping active. I love a good book and playing sport. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Event management and have been working in managerial roles since my graduation. Like my sister, I have worked in schools in Papua New Guinea with From me to PNG to build libraries. I have created and update our website and facilitate new marketing strategies for From me to PNG.
We are a non for profit organisation that sends donated school resources ranging in all types – reading books, journals, exercise books, pens, pencils, educational games, and sports equipment to Papua New Guinea. We build and improve educational facilities like libraries in small villages in order to give these children in developing countries equal opportunities.
The Waterboy works to break down barriers to give New Zealanders an opportunity to participate in sport.
We identify those groups and individuals who want to do sport but are unable for some reason, and create initiatives to break down barriers and give them those opportunities. We then film the initiatives to capture the story and give businesses an opportunity to partner with us as a means of showing their values.
